Stephen Gallacher Wins Dubai Desert Classic… AGAIN!

FPG sponsored golfer, Stephen Gallacher, must love playing in Dubai after successfully defending his Dubai Desert Classic title, leaving a world class field trailing in his wake. Stephen is the first golfer to defend this sought after title and did so with the help of a final round 72 that included four bogeys on the front nine and four birdies on the back nine.

BBC’s golf correspondent, Iain Carter commented,

“The key thing is that this win takes Gallacher to around the world’s top 40 which means he will be eligible for all the biggest events, starting with the WGC Matchplay then Doral and the Masters.

“That gives him the ideal platform to launch his bid for Ryder Cup qualification.”

Stephen’s a Runner Up at the Johnnie Walker Championship

FPG sponsored PGA golfer, Stephen Gallacher narrowly missed out on winning the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles last weekend.

After taking the lead on the 18th hole playing in the penultimate match, Stephen had to endure a few  tense minutes watching big hitting Argentinian, Ricardo Gonzalez and long time tournament leader, Tommy Fleetwood equal his 18 under score and force the tournament into a play off.

Unfortunately Stephen hit his second shot into the green side bunker and was unable to match Fleetwood’s birdie that earned him the title.

Everyone at FPG are extremely proud of Stephen’s efforts and wish him all the best when he plays in this week’s Wales Open.

FPG Sponsored Stephen Gallacher Wins Dubai Desert Classic

FPG sponsored golfer Stephen Gallacher beat a world class field by three shots to win the Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday, his second European Tour win. Stephen led the field going into the final round helped by registering his best ever European Tour round on Saturday when he shot a 10-under-par 62.

BBC’s golf correspondent, Iain Carter commented,

“Stephen has always been one of the best ball strikers on Tour and this victory should prove the launchpad for his 2013 season. It certainly continues an upward trend from encouraging results towards the end of last year.”

Our fullest congratulations go out to Stephen and wish him continued success wearing our lucky FPG logo on his sleeve.
